Chez Taylor is one of the leading pop saxophonists and tutors in the UK. With over 17k subscribers on her YouTube channel you are likely to have stumbled across one of her videos before. We are honoured to invite her to host two workshops for us.
The saxophone has become a popular feature in dance music over the last decade due to the Ibiza and Après Ski party scene. Soloing over dance genres such as House, EDM and Garage is a lot of fun and generally more accessible than jazz improvisation. Chez will demonstrate how to quickly identify the key of any song and which notes will work for your improvisation. Whether you like dance music or not, this is an ideal introduction to improvisation and you don't need to be a saxophone ninja to get involved!

This workshop is intended for saxophone players only.
We recommend a minimum standard of grade 2 (1 year) and age 16+.
Workshops last 1.5 hours.

Let's be honest, you LOVE IT when your favourite 80s pop song gets to the explosive sax solo - it may have been what inspired you to play the saxophone in the first place? Chez will guide you through three iconic 80s sax solos; Careless Whisper by George Michael, Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, and True by Spandau Ballet. Learn the necessary instrument techniques to recreate that authentic eighties sound and pick up tips on how to practice any challenging sections.
